Product Overview

When a disinfection product must be small — an air purifier tower, a duct-mounted HVAC module, a countertop sterilizer, a disinfection cabinet — a full-length straight tube simply does not fit. The H-shape (PL-type) UVC lamp solves the geometry problem by folding the quartz arc tube into a compact twin-tube “H” that packs the arc length of a much longer straight lamp into a fraction of the space, with all electrical connections on a single plug-in base. The Legia Smart GPL series covers fourteen configurations from 5W to 36W, in overall lengths from 83mm to 410mm, across the five industry-standard base families: G23 and 2G7 (compact), GX23 (mid-power), and 2G11 / G10q (high-power).

This is the lamp format that dominates the air purification industry. A single 36W 2G11 H-lamp delivers 110 μW/cm² at one meter — enough intensity to disinfect the full airflow of a residential air handler or a commercial purifier chamber — from a lamp shorter than 41cm. For OEMs, the plug-in base means the lamp is a user-replaceable consumable with no wiring, no tools, and no service call: a recurring-revenue replacement part built into the product architecture.

Legia Smart GPL lamps are built on the same materials platform as the rest of the UVC range: high-purity quartz with reduced impurity content for maximum 254nm transmission, an internal anti-solarization coating that keeps the output decay curve shallow, and long-life cathodes rated for 9,000 hours of operation. Ozone-free quartz is standard; 185nm ozone-generating versions are available for odor-control and combined UV+ozone applications.
