Unlike standard low-pressure mercury lamps whose output peaks at a single, narrow operating point, amalgam technology stabilizes the mercury vapor pressure inside the arc tube across a wide thermal window — keeping 254nm output above 85% of nominal from roughly 10°C to 60°C ambient.
